The Grace Project exists to break through the stigma preventing women from accessing healthcare and to address the unique needs of women living with HIV/AIDS. The Grace Project Supports, Educates, and Empowers (S.E.E.) women by providing access to affordable HIV-specific mental health and substance abuse counseling, connections to support services, educational programs, and the Grace Project Conference- the nation’s largest conference for women living with HIV/AIDS with an established network of over 200 women.

The Grace Project
Conference

Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25th

The Grace Project Conference for Women Living with HIV/AIDS is the cornerstone of the Grace Project. Our conference is the nation’s largest conference specifically for women living with HIV/AIDS. Conference attendees gain valuable skills and understand health issues pertaining to their diagnosis through discussion groups, workshops from healthcare professionals, team-building challenges, and many other activities led by local leaders and community members.

SUPPORT

THERAPEUTIC THURSDAYS

Support groups, process groups, and psychoeducational groups meet regularly on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00PM CST. Grace Project women can engage for support, conversation, and informative and inspiring personal development workshops.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

The Grace Project presents fun and safe opportunities for local women to come together and unwind. Our social activities range from dinner and crafts projects to yoga and karaoke. No matter the activity, it’s always tons of fun!

EDUCATE

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Due to the generous contributions of our sponsors and supporters, the Grace Project is able to host educational workshops with catered meals at our conference hotel and restaurants in the DFW area. At our HealthySexual Lunch and Learn Grace Project women learned how to protect their sexual health. Our Mental Health Marathon is a one-day event which includes live sessions from Legacy therapists and community partners focused on mental health, substance abuse, self-care, and activities such as journaling.

THE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The Grace Project Leadership Academy supports women living with HIV by recognizing their personal accomplishments and providing opportunities to gain knowledge and skills in the areas of leadership, anti-stigma efforts, HIV advocacy, and self-care for positive people. Our most recent workshop series have explored Personal Development and Women’s Empowerment.

EMPOWER

#IAMRED

The #IAmRed anti-stigma social media campaign aims to further reduce stigma and isolation among women living with HIV by creating a social network of women who are open about their positive status. #IAmRed asks women living with HIV who are openly disclosing to wear red scarves and turn out in public settings such as World AIDS Day observations to, in essence, create a Sea of Red. The hashtag #IAmRed is used on social media to promote the campaign. We ask other women living with HIV to wear red, film their own short video, and send it to graceproject@legacycares.org to join the campaign!
